A woman was killed on the Cross Bronx Expressway when a tractor-trailer rear-ended her Range Rover.
According to the New York Daily News, the motor vehicle incident began as the driver of the Range Rover first rear-ended a different tractor-trailer at about 12:30 AM. As the driver of the Range Rover and the first tractor-trailer waited for police to respond, a second tractor-trailer slammed into the Range Rover. As a result, the Range Rover was pushed underneath the first tractor-trailer, and all three vehicles erupted into flames. Although the two tractor-trailer drivers survived, the driver of the Range Rover tragically died. Police shut down the Cross Bronx Expressway for several hours to extinguish the fire and investigate the crash.
