Hopefully this weekend you’re able to stay inside, stay dry, and avoid having to drive anywhere. However, if you are on the roads this weekend, and get involved in a car accident, it’s important you do the following:
– Contact the police;
– Make sure they create a police report that includes your version of the accident;
– Take pictures of any damage to both your vehicle and any other vehicle involved in the accident;
– Take pictures of any visible injuries, such as cuts or bruises you may have;
– Seek immediate medical attention;
– Report all sources of pain at the hospital;
– Follow up with your own primary care physician;
– Do not make statements regarding liability to the other driver or his/her insurance company; and
– If you intend to file a lawsuit, speak to a lawyer as soon as possible
